greetings to everyone on the board who reads English. And greetings to those who don't read English as well.

My name is Brian and I am a very keen carp angler from the south west of the uk. I am coming to fish in Bulgaria soon and just thought I would say hi to a few people and ask some questions, if I may.

I will be visiting Ovcharitsa, Batak and Jrebchevo during my visit.
I have been told that they hold a few very big fish. Does anyone know of any information on these lakes? Perhaps some photo's of the lakes or fish that you have caught there...any information would be helpful.

You may try the area near Bourgas and Varna, Lake Mandra in particular. One can find 3 different carp species in this lake namely mirror, common and wild carp.

In recent days, however, fish resources are diminishing as a result of poor stocking and an abundance of poachers

North America seems a much better place for carp fishing. No one ever takes a carp home except for fertilizing their flower beds.

I'm Bulgarian but I'm currently living in the UK. As far as I know from friends in Jreb4evo and Batak there are quite a lot of predators. But fish like carp also occur very often.
In Batak you can try catfishing from a boat.

P.S. Legering, floatfishing and spinning are the most popular methods used there !!!
