Изпълнителна агенция по рибарство и аквакултури е партньор по проект за опазване на биоразнообразието и борба с бракониерството в Румъния. Официална делегация беше на посещение в гр. Гюргево. По време на срещите бяха обсъдени предстоящите дейности, както и възможностите за по-нататъшно задълбочаване на сътрудничеството между партньорите.

Откриващата конференция е по проект ROBG00018 „BioGuard – опазване на биоразнообразието и борба с бракониерството“, финансиран по програма „Интеррег VI-А Румъния-България 2021-2027 г.“. Водещ партньор е Териториалният инспекторат на гранична полиция в Област Гюргево, като други партньори от румънска страна са Инспекторатът на жандармерията в Област Гюргево и Инспекторатът на полицията в област Гюргево. В събитието участваха и представители на Съвместния секретариат, който подпомага органите за управление на програмата при изпълнение на техните задължения и предоставя помощ на бенефициентите.

Проект BioGuard се фокусира върху целите на Зелената сделка по отношение на подкрепата за опазването на биоразнообразието, опазването на защитените територии и насърчаването на зелени градски пространства. Бракониерството и незаконните дейности в река Дунав са основен проблем както за Румъния, така и за България от години. Тези незаконни дейности не само причиняват икономически и екологични щети, но също така подкопават усилията на двете страни да защитят и съхранят своето биоразнообразие.

Чрез проекта румънските и българските партньори ще работят заедно за справяне с този проблем и намиране на начини за подкрепа и защита на ценните ресурси на реката. Специфичната цел на проекта е увеличаване на капацитета за интервенция за опазване на околната среда чрез развитие на инфраструктурата за обучение и съответното закупуване на оборудване за отговорните органи.
